Meta made smart glasses feel real.

That may sound simple, but it is one of the most important shifts in wearable technology right now. The likely outcome may not be a simple winner-takes-all contest. Google, Samsung, Android XR, and other players also have reasons to fight for this space.

But the direction is becoming clearer.

Smart glasses are no longer just an experimental wearable idea.

They may become one of the next major platform battles.

And the question is no longer just whether Apple can build smart glasses.

It is whether Apple can enter after Meta and still help define what smart glasses become.

So the real question is this:

Do smart glasses become a Meta-led social AI layer, an Apple-led personal computing layer, or the beginning of a much wider wearable platform war?
